Inter narrowly won 1-0 in the first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League as the Black and Whites beat Porto at the San Siro. The challenge was complicated for the Italians as they solved it only in the 86th minute with a goal from Romelu Lukaku, who was a second choice of coach Simone Inzaghi and was activated in the second half.

A starter's jersey was reserved for Dzeko who failed to endanger the Portuguese, but became the protagonist of an argument with goalkeeper Andre Onana in the first half. The goalkeeper came close to protesting to the referee in the 37th minute, but the striker retaliated by telling him to stay in the goal and shut up.
