The national team player who was part of Partizan Belgrade is kidnapped by an armed gang

Libyan football is facing a chaotic situation. 34-year-old Mohamed Zabia, one of the stars of the national team, was recently kidnapped by members of an armed gang.

According to British media, since last week nothing has been heard about the attacker, while it was later learned that he had been kidnapped. The footballer with 25 caps for the Libyan national team was kidnapped while in Tripoli, the capital of his native country.

His family members are also in a state of shock, who have stated that they were not contacted by the kidnappers to ask for anything in exchange for the release of their loved one. The footballer would have been kidnapped easily, as he has been walking with crutches for several months, following a serious injury.

Zabia started his career in 2006 at Al-Shat Tripoli. After an experience at Al-Arabi in Kuwait, he ended up in European football, at Partizan Belgrade.

He failed to impose himself on the Serbs, and since then he has only played for teams from Algerian, Tunisian or Bahraini football. In the Libyan national team, Mohamed Zabia has scored 6 goals.
