Liverpool agree with Mac Allister, only the formalization is missing

Liverpool have signed Alexis MacAllister from Brighton for an even lower transfer fee than previously reported. Mac Allister, 24, passed his medical with Liverpool on Tuesday and has agreed a five-year deal at Anfield, said to be worth £150,000-a-week.

According to journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have paid a release clause in the midfielder's contract with Brighton and are set to complete the transfer, with the final documents being signed.

Romano claims Liverpool paid just £35m for the midfielder, who was a key player in Argentina's World Cup triumph in Qatar. This could be called the transfer of the year or 'steal' when it is known that Chelsea paid €125m to sign Mac Allister's partner in Argentina, Enzo Fernandez, in January.
