Great fear for Thomas Mangani. AC Ajaccio's midfielder has been hospitalized in Angers, after a serious chest injury, which occurred on Wednesday evening during the match between the two teams, the Corsican club has learned.

Mangani, who is 36 years old, had an accident in a collision with an opposing player and had difficulty breathing.

"Victim of pneumothorax, our player is now in good condition. The intervention went well, Thomas will soon return to Corsica", - writes ACA on his Twitter account.

After the injury, the player was immediately taken to the Angers hospital, where he was still under observation on Thursday evening. It is believed he could leave hospital and join Ajaccio on Friday or Saturday.

According to a source familiar with the case, Mangani suffered a broken rib and ruptured pleura. We do not yet know the length of his recovery.
