She was sexually abused by an employee of the Federation, the coach broke her silence...

Vera Pauw, a former Dutch coach now of Ireland, has revealed that she was sexually assaulted by three men employed by Dutch football when she was a player. She eventually reported these attacks to the police, believing that she had received no support from the Dutch federation (KNVB).

"For 35 years I kept this secret from the rest of the world, from my family, from my teammates and players," she wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. - Even those closest to me are not aware of the rape committed by a senior football official when I was a young player. Later, I was the target of two more attacks by other men. All three were working in the Dutch football federation at the time."

Holandezja tha se kishte dërguar pesë raporte në KNVB dhe së fundi kishte raportuar përdhunimin dhe sulmin e saj seksual në policinë holandeze. “Tashmë ndihem si fillimi i fundit për mua, por e di se do të ketë më shumë zemërthyerje në të ardhmen. Por gjithashtu shpresoj që futbollistet dhe trajneret e tjera të reja që janë ekspozuar ndaj diçkaje si ajo që kam kaluar, tani do të ndihen mjaft të guximshme për të dalë përpara dhe për të ndarë historitë e tyre,”- vazhdon ajo.

The Dutch federation said it was " very shocked by the events described by Vera during a discussion last year"  and that it had subsequently entrusted the investigation to an independent body. It highlighted a series of errors in the way the assaults suffered by Vera Pauw were handled and the fact that the Federation  "did not react quickly enough to the first warnings given by Pauw about inappropriate sexual behavior in 2011".
