In this world where money has taken the foreground and passion and love have faded significantly, comes the rare example that can hardly be repeated these days. Lucas Perez is the latest example that proves that love for the coat of arms has not died yet. The Spanish footballer has decided to give up La Liga to go to the third league of Spain. The reason lies behind a name, Deportivo La Coruna.

Lucas Perez was born in A Coruna and started his career with the Deportivo La Coruna team. The latter were forced to put an end to their glory years when they won the title and came close to the Champions League final. Financial problems saw the club sell Perez to Arsenal to avoid bankruptcy, but unfortunately they did not avoid relegation to Spain's lower leagues.

But now, years later, the former Arsenal player did what other footballers would not even think of. Perez followed his heart and returned to the team he has been a fan of since childhood. The 34-year-old striker terminated his contract with Cadiz, who are active in La Liga, and paid 493,000 euros of his money for the transfer to the third division in the ranks of Deportivo La Coruna. His objective is clear, to take the club back to the high levels of Spanish football. The right path is on, as Deportivo La Coruna are ranked 4th and have a good chance of moving up a category.
