The goal against Real Madrid, Griezmann goes down in history

It wasn't a historic night yesterday for Atletico Madrid, who were beaten by rivals Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup. But in the challenge played in Riyadh, which ended with the result 5-3 (after extra time) for Ancelotti's team, the most important record was set by Antoine Griezmann.

With the goal scored against Real, the French striker became the best scorer in the entire history of the club. Griezmann scored his 174th goal for Atletico Madrid, passing the legendary Luis Aragones, who had stopped at 173 goals.    

This achievement of the 32-year-old has not gone unnoticed in France, where "L'Equipe", the largest sports newspaper in the country, has dedicated the front page to him, with the title: "A goal of legend".

Griezmann has played with Atletico most of his career (first period 2014-2019), tried a short experience at Barcelona (2019-2022), to return to the Basque team.
