Superiore's new formula, "a gold mine" for clubs

The new season formula of the Superior Category of the National Football Championship is seen as a golden opportunity to increase interest, but also financial income. Official sources in the Albanian Football Federation have confirmed for the Albanian Radio-Television Network that the Belgian model has been adopted and, this year, it presented a surprise, as Antwerp, in the 3rd place in the regular season, was declared "champion", after triumphed in the extended stage of the "play-off", or in other words the "final 4", which was played in the form of a group.

The only advantage that the team that will end the regular season in first place will have, is that it will benefit from the traditional reward of 10 million lek and, if it ends the extra phase at the top with equal points with another team, it will be announced automatically "champion". Meanwhile, in the AFL, they see the "play-off" stage as a gold mine, since in the 12 matches that will be played at the 22,000-seat "Arena Kombëtare" Stadium in the capital, it is intended to sell an average of 10,000-12,000 tickets for each match.

Revenues from tickets, but also revenues from television rights, which will be sold "separately", as well as those from advertising and media partners, are calculated according to official sources in the body that governs football in the country, to reach the figure of 200 million lek . This fund will be divided 60% by 40% or 70% by 30% between the 10 teams of the Superior Category, with the first 4 to share the "lion's" share and the other 6 to share the rest in form of the solidarity fund.
