The Albanian national team will face the Italian one in a match that is expected to bring strong emotions.

Regardless of the result and the progress they will have in the Group, the boys of Albania have already made history, qualifying for the second time, after the one in France in 2016.

In addition to an important result from a sporting point of view, a major football competition, such as the European Championship, is also associated with important benefits of an economic nature.

This includes direct benefits for the Albanian Football Federation, possible bonuses for players, but also additional income for some special sectors of the economy, related to the development of this event.

The revenues expected to be provided by the Albanian Football Federation (AFF) from participating in this competition are significant for a country like Albania.

According to information from the European Football Federation (UEFA), the fixed participation fee for each of the federations participating in Euro 2024 will be 9.25 million euros.

With the qualification for the European Championship, this amount is
already a guaranteed income for the AFL.

Other income will depend on the sports results that the National Team will provide.

For each match won in the group stage, the teams will receive 1 million euros, while for each draw they will receive 500 thousand euros.

In this way, the additional income can reach up to 3 million euros, in case the National Team would manage to win all the matches.

This would bring the maximum possible income from the first phase, in groups, to 12.25 million euros.

Furthermore, the qualification for the next stage, that of the sixteenth, would be accompanied by an additional bonus of 1.5 million euros.

So, in the event that the National Team passes the group stage, the AFL would benefit from 10.75 million euros, plus the income from possible victories or draws.

In the best case, therefore, of achieving three victories, the income from the group stage would reach 13.75 million euros.

Considering that 16 teams from 24 participants will qualify for the round of 16 (the first two places in each group and the four best third places) at least from a statistical point of view, the chances of going further are considerable.

In the event that the National Team would manage to further qualify for the quarter-finals, the bonus from UEFA for this stage will have the value of 2.5 million euros.

This would bring the total benefit to the AFL to at least 13.25 million euros (not including income from results in the group stage).

In case of reaching the semi-finals, the bonus provided by UEFA is worth 4 million euros. This would bring the total income from the European to at least 17.25 million euros, plus possible additions from the results achieved in the group stage.

The team that will win the European Championship will receive a bonus of 8 million euros, which brings the total income for the winning team to at least 25.25 million euros, plus the income from the group results (the maximum income would reach 28.25 million euro)

The team that will be ranked second will receive a reward of 5 million euros, which would bring the minimum income from reaching the final to the amount of 22.25 million euros (the maximum income is calculated at 25.25 million euros).

In fact, the maximum revenue available will be lower compared to Euro 2020, when the winning team could receive up to €34 million. In Euro 2024, the rewards linked to the results in each stage will be lower.

Of course, Albania is not ranked among the favorite teams to go to the final stages of the European Championship, but, in the event that the National Team will surprise with its results, the income would be large and could constitute a basis for increasing investments in the development of football in the country.

The 2024 European Football Championship will take place from June 14 to July 14 in Germany.
