They took him hostage and demanded 13 million euros, Pogba confesses the moment of horror: They pointed a gun at me, this is what I told them

"Le Monde" has published excerpts from Paul Pogba's statement to the French police, where the Juventus midfielder confessed to the kidnapping and extortion attempt. "They pointed guns at me, it was scary."

The midfielder is currently under police protection while in Italy as he recovers from knee surgery and five people have been charged in France over the attempted extortion, including his older brother Mathias.

While there was also an incident at the Juventus training ground in Turin, the main focus of the investigation is the evening of March 19, 2022 in Paris.

According to his statement, while returning to his hotel with a childhood friend named Boubacar C, other friends known as Adama C, the Roushdane brothers and Machikour K took Pogba to an apartment in Chanteloup-en-Brie .

Here they forced Pogba to turn off his phone and moments later two men entered wearing hoodies and bulletproof vests.

At this point, Roushdane 'invited' Pogba to pay them €13m, including €3m in cash, for the 'protection' he would receive in the future.

"It was scary," Pogba was quoted as saying.

"They both pointed their guns at me. Being thus threatened, I told them that I would pay, but they began to shout: 'Shut up, keep your eyes down.'

“One of the two hooded people whispered in Roushdane's ear. When they left, Roushdane told me I had to pay, otherwise we were all in danger".
