England Under-21 manager Lee Carsley could step down in the summer and legends Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard are seen as favorites to take charge of the team.

The FA is considering two national legends as replacements for Carsley if he leaves.

According to  The Mirror , if Carsley steps down from his U21 role after their European Championship, the FA will have an important decision on their hands.

They could turn to midfield legends Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard as his replacement.

Neither has set the world alight as managers, but Gerrard is seen as the favorite after winning the Scottish Premier League title with Rangers.

Gerrard last worked at Aston Villa, while Lampard was sacked by Everton this season.

Another name being mentioned is that of Scott Parker.
