Duka, disappointed with Albania: We should have done more, changed for the World

Albania was defeated 2-1 by Ukraine and as a result, was ranked last in group B1, which also means relegation to League C for the next edition.

For this, the president of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, reacted for the first time.

The head of football emphasizes that Albania should have done more in the League of Nations, while adding that it is an obligation to change the page for the World Cup qualification.

"We started well and ended badly in this Nations League competition, we lost the main game, the decisive one, but it's not like we shone in most of the games. We were really upset, maybe because we created too many expectations. After we calm down, we must analyze this competition well. Beyond the technical and tactical side, for which the staff will undergo a deep analysis, we again noticed that the team suffered ups and downs, which of course put us in positions in the classification. We were aware and it was clear that we had no simple opponents. As much as we are again convinced that we have a very strong team that can give us strong emotions again.

After the European matches we should have done much better in the Nations League, but something did not work as we wanted and the coach, the staff and the team will analyze it among themselves. Now is the time for some calm, as everyone feels the weight of responsibility for what we did wrong. Despite the fact that we were not where we deserve to be, I still have the conviction, and not just me, that we have excellent boys and a team with many qualities. The presence in Europe gave us more strength and self-confidence, but the real strength is continuity. No path of complacency should prevent us from doing much better than in the European qualifiers.

The matches we closed are the object of reflection and analysis and let them serve as an emergency turning point for everyone, looking at things calmly and not at all emotionally to find guilty and innocent! We will soon learn the opponents of the World Cup qualifiers. We went to the European Championship twice. With confidence and a lot of self-correcting strength, we will attempt an opportunity to reach another historic goal!
