Draw at the end, Veselinovic: Tirana's inferiority was evident

Partizan coach Aleksandar Veselinovic said he expected the equalizer in the derby against Tirana.

The Reds' coach stated that the quick goal kept the opponent alive, while adding that their inferiority was evident when they lay on the field.

"Everything is very expected because it is a derby. The fans have created a great atmosphere and were always in support of the team. I have mixed feelings, I don't think I am completely satisfied with the 1-1 result. Normally I say that we should not be arrogant and respect all opponents, if it weren't for Tirana it wouldn't be such a derby. We have been the dominant team since the beginning of the match and it was a matter of time before we would manage to equalize. The fans felt it and supported the team. Then at one point Tirana managed to score. They normally achieved it thanks to individual qualities, but also as a result of some individual tactical mistakes of ours. From that moment on we continued to perform until the end. Then we consciously came out on top and our upper line was 45 meters.

It was a little complicated, we tried to make adjustments with the player changes. Normally we gave Tirana a little more space for counterattacks and it was natural for them to use them, they could even punish us for these spaces. But one thing that is repeated continuously is the part of the morale that the team enjoys and we are doing it continuously. Again we manage to score at the end of the match. But let's not forget that even before that we had two very good scoring chances. With all due respect to Tirana, the 1-0 score for them at the beginning of the match was what kept them alive. And I believe that part of the verification of their inferiority was that they had to lie down on the field very quickly and the medical staff had to enter. I also took a break so that we could continue with this performance because sometimes it is difficult to control our nerves", declared Veselinovic.
