600 million followers on "Instagram", Cristiano Ronaldo enters history

Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo writes Instagram history by becoming the first person to reach 600 million followers on this platform.

The historical record comes a few months after he reached 500 million followers in November.

Recognized as one of the best footballers in the world, he plays as a striker for Al Nassr and serves as the captain of the Portuguese national team.

The soccer star posts actively on Instagram and has gained more than 150 million followers since last May, according to Social Blade, a 34% increase.

According to Forbes, the 38-year-old soccer star also has a net worth of $500 million, making him one of the richest and most successful athletes in the world.

For the first time since 2017 (and third time overall), Cristiano Ronaldo also topped Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid athletes, earning a Guinness World Records title for the highest annual earnings for an athlete in 2023.

The Argentinian footballer, Lionel Messi, is in second place on the list of the most followers with 482 million. Meanwhile, American singer and actress Selena Gomez is in third place with 427 million followers on Instagram. Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Khloe Kardashian, Justin Bieber are the other celebrities in the list of the 10 most followed people on Instagram.
