The residents of Postriba, after protesting several times and blocking the roads because they have not found a solution to their previous problem with drinking water, have returned to meetings with local authorities. For the third time in a row, they have received a promise of a solution. A quarry that carries out explosions in the mountain, according to the residents, has damaged the water supply of several villages and if the Shkodra municipality does not find a solution, they say they will turn to the Kanun.

"This is the third time we have come to the municipality. The mayor himself called us because we have been having problems with drinking water since 2018. We hope that it will be fixed now because he promised us himself. They asked for the removal of the quarries that pollute the water supply because since the arrival of the quarries, the water has been undrinkable. He did not give us a deadline, but we hope that it will be fixed because he has the ability to act," said a resident.

"We have complained everywhere. The problem is the quarry. Every day it rains, the quarry pollutes and brings us undrinkable water. He promised us that it will be fixed, if he doesn't fix it for us, we will use the Kanun because we pay for the water. The quarry is not allowed in the area where it is," the resident says.

Since 2018, the residents of Postriba have raised their voices, but no institution has reacted. For them, the removal of the quarry in the area is urgent for the restoration of drinking water./ CNA
