The General Secretary of the SP, Damian Gjiknuri, has stated that the Socialist Party intends to take up to 55 municipalities in the May 14 elections.

Invited to the Barometer show, Gjiknuri targeted the opposition, saying that thanks to it, it will become the first political force.

 "We do not fall below 45 municipalities. But what we aim for is from 45-55 municipalities, this will be the limit we claim, taking into account the political situation in the country, the polls, input from our electoral structures and the state of the opposition. It may still be 47% of votes in total, but the goal is to reach the objective I said before about the number of municipalities. If you even refer to the general elections, if the votes are collected, it comes out in the prediction I said. For us, it is important to be the first party, SP will not expand without limit, it is important to dominate political life. With 48 percent of the votes, PD will be the first party in the general elections", said Gjiknuri./ CNA.al
