The head of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, has been sued for defamation by the PBDNJ candidate for mayor in Himarë, Fredi Beleri.

The lawsuit follows a statement by Balla to the media where he stated that it is shameful to run for a person convicted for the Peshkpi massacre, referring to Fredi Beleri.

The candidate for Mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, as he had warned on February 28, 2023, after the ugly slanders made against him by the head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla from the city of Fier, has filed a lawsuit against him.

He also made the following statement:

'Although I warned Mr. Taulant Balla that he will be held accountable before the justice for his defamatory and false statements against me, he continued to support his defamation. Today I filed and filed a lawsuit. By means of which I requested compensation of 1,000,000 ALL, which I will donate the entire amount to the 'Vlora Baby Home'.

At least in this way such a slanderer will have contributed a little to the dilapidated nursing home service in the municipality. I am convinced and full of hope for the decision of the Albanian justice.

However, the political answer will be given to repeat slanderers like Taulant Balla on May 14 when Himara elects a mayor who will serve the interests of the country and not his friends'./ CNA.al
