The Parliament of Albania has withheld a part of the salary of the deputies of the Democratic Party Gazment Bardhi, Flamur Noka, Bledjon Nallbati and Elda Hoti, after they burned the carts and refused to pay the damage voluntarily.

Since they themselves refused to make payment, the amount was withheld from their salary for the months of November and December 2024. According to the invoice, the damage caused amounts to 764 thousand new ALL.

Bardhi received 209,000 lek, Flamur Noka e Nallbati 187,000 lek and Elda Hoti 180,000 lek.

The document even states that Bardhi damaged the emblem of the parliament, burned the chairs and the carpet, while others burned the chairs and the carpet. The document was signed by the Secretary of the parliament, Genci Gjonçaj.

We recall that DP deputies burned the parliament chairs on September 30 of last year, in protest after the Court of Appeal sentenced their colleague Ervin Salianj to one year in prison.

After this action, the Assembly through an announcement said that it has set up a working group to assess the damages caused and at the end of the assessment, the deputies involved in acts of violence will be charged with the responsibility of financial compensation.
