American rapper Kanye West changes his legal name again

American rapper Kanye West, who changed his name to Ye, although he was legally known as Ye West in 2021, has reportedly changed his name again according to new documents from his California business.

Kanye's CFO, Hussain Lalani, filed the documents under the name 'Ye Ye', a repeat of his new name.

The rapper had his name as "Ye West" according to legal documents, but his businesses, which include Yeezy Apparel, Getting Out Your Dreams Inc and Yeezy Record Label LLC, have the "manager or member name" section under the new name.

Kanye first announced that he would be using the name Ye on Twitter in 2018, saying that he was "officially known as Kanye West. I am YE." He also titled his eighth studio album Ye, but kept his legal name as Kanye West.

Three years later, in 2021, he filed documents to legally change his name to Ye, citing "personal reasons" as the reason for the change. /CNA
