Making and keeping New Year's resolutions

Many people may be trying to think of a New Year's resolution. A popular choice every year revolves around health and wellness.

Stacey Houser, founder of the Temple Challenge and leader of Daybreak's Movement Monday, shared some tips for making and keeping healthy resolutions.

Stacey Houser explained that if you set a goal that is too big to begin with, you may fail and then get discouraged so you set small goals.

"The World Health Organization suggests 2.5 hours of exercise per week. That's not much if you spread it over so many days... Again, create small goals for your New Year's resolution.”

Houser offered other tips for making goals attainable and realistic, like adding things to your daily routine and schedule. She emphasized that you may not be perfect every day. If you know there's a day you don't do so well, or you mess up, it's important to know that it's okay. She said you can go back to your routine the next day!
