"I've had trauma in the past," Ariana Grande: Acting helped me

Ariana Grande has described the therapeutic effect of acting on her life. The famous singer confessed that acting helped her heal the wounds that existed in her relationship with music and touring. The 32-year-old star plays the role of Glinda in the film “Wicked,” in which she stars alongside Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey.

Following her acclaimed role, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, Grande continued to write music and released her fifth album, Eternal Sunshine.

Commenting on her upcoming tour next year to promote the album, Grande, in an interview with Interview magazine with Hollywood star Nicole Kidman, shared details about her relationship with music over the past two years.

"I feel really grateful and excited about it in a way that feels so different to me. I've just been healing my relationship with music and touring for the last two years. I spent a lot of time reimagining my system when it came to making music. With Eternal Sunshine, it was a very different experience. I think the time away from music helped me reclaim some of it and put some of the feelings that maybe had to do with my relationship with fame or the things that come with being an artist in a box somewhere else and say, 'Okay, I don't have to give up this thing that I love. I can put these things here and not lose my talents ,'" she said.

Ariana Grande has noted that by entering the world of acting, she was able to heal her relationship with music and touring.

"I'm just taking small steps towards healing my relationship with music and touring, and I think my time with Glinda and acting really helped me build the strength to be able to do that. "But I can't express how grateful I am. I think I just had some trauma in the past and it feels like it's dissolving, and that's such an incredibly beautiful thing," the singer said. /CNA
