Video/ Incident during Miss Universe in Thailand, Miss Jamaica falls off stage

The Miss Universe beauty pageant in Thailand took an unexpected turn on Wednesday when Miss Jamaica, Gabrielle Henry, fell off the stage during one of the rounds. The incident occurred as she was walking towards the edge of the stage and suddenly fell into the void.

Video circulating on social media shows the moment of the fall, as well as her being transported on a stretcher to the hospital.

In an Instagram post, the Miss Universe organizer assured that Henry had not suffered serious injuries:

"I want to inform the entire Miss Universe family that I just got out of the hospital where Gabrielle is being treated. Fortunately, there are no broken bones and she is under good medical care," he wrote.

The Miss Universe Jamaica organization also announced that Henry fell during the evening gown round of the preliminary competition before the finals, which will be held this weekend in Thailand. She was taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where doctors are conducting further checks to ensure a full recovery, although her injuries are not life-threatening. /CNA
