Jazz concert in Pogradec, interweaving of foreign music with that of our country

In recent years, Pogradeci has had great development in terms of cultural activities, tourist guides, events that highlight history and heritage, making visitors to capture high numbers of their stay in this city.

A completely different evening in Pogradec was that of Sunday, where many locals and tourists filled the "Odeon" square. For more than an hour, the atmosphere changed from a concert with Jazz music by Gent Rushi & Band, with a mix of Albanian and foreign music, in collaboration with the singer Alba Dajlani.

The ideator and musician Gent Rushi has shown the special features of this concert, saying that it is a standard that is applied in the world and, why not, should it not take place in Albania as well.

"It's always a pleasure when I come to Pogradec, for the country, for the people, for all the cooperation we have with the Multifunctional Center, with the city. It's a very good energy and we're very happy to come and play in Pogradec, generally even when we play in Albania because we don't have most of the activity in Albania at the moment. Another reason I want to say is that the collaboration with Alba is something very special for us as a trio because Alba is a young artist with a lot of perspective the guys who play with me, Roni Gjura on bass and master Emiljan Dhimo, complete this framework to make a complete performance that surpasses the Albanian standard. This is the standard that is normally played everywhere in the world now we got the applause we wanted, the audience was very good. In two words, it's the audience we want. We have other things in the plan and very close," he said.

For the singer Alba Dajlani, performing among this fantastic group is an extraordinary pleasure. She shows that the repertoire they have chosen is a very beautiful interweaving of foreign music with that of our country, while she says that they have developed a series of projects which will continue in the future.

"Working with the band has been going on for several years, it's nothing new and performing with the band is a tremendous pleasure and a privilege because they are all very good musicians, very established and very good players. The music really becomes a game at the moment I play with them. It's always a good feeling to play with them. It's a very diverse repertoire. We've had the project with French songs, with Albanian songs and those with standard Jazz. Here we tried to bring a summary of all these that I mentioned", she said.

Ron Gjura is the guitarist of the band, who among many emotions has first thanked the Municipality of Pogradec for the invitation and has stopped at a very important part of the development, precisely that of tourists, saying that this concert is a very good opportunity for to introduce Albanian music at a time when there are many foreigners in Pogradec. Gjura shows that Jazz is the type of music that carries in itself the freedom of improvisations, which makes it more beautiful and more liked not only by the musicians, but also by the public.

"I'm starting with a thank you to the Municipality of Pogradec for inviting us. The idea is that for this project, since there are many tourists who have entered with millions, this is a good opportunity for us to present our music Albanians and for foreign tourists to get to know our traditions, for the combination of Jazz music and the traditional values ??of each song we play. with professors Gent Rushin and Emiljan Dhimon, we are currently on tour in Europe, but we have also been in Asia to present our music and tradition in various events that are organized abroad piece, which has fixed lines, but gives you the freedom to be part of the composition of the piece or of the improvisations. There will always be novelty because you can never play the same improvisation twice. We have many concerts actually , the next one will be in Bulgaria, then in Serbia and we continue with a tour in Europe, Italy, France, etc., he said.

Sunday evening in Pogradec has brought a completely different atmosphere for the many citizens and tourists who have begun to frequent the area.
