The boat breaks down at sea/ 11 tourists are rescued in Vlora

The Border Police and the Coast Guard rescued 12 citizens, including 11 tourists from different countries, whose lives were in danger in the boat that had broken down at sea.

The owner of the vessel was fined with an administrative measure of 100,000 ALL, while his vessel was blocked, as it was not equipped with the Marine Tourist Operator's Certificate.

Citizen EL, 30 years old, resident in Vlora, has asked for the help of the Police after his boat had an engine failure in front of the port of Vlora.

The Border Police Services of SPK Triport, upon receiving the notification, immediately left with a vessel and in cooperation with the vessel of the Coast Guard, made it possible to save the 12 citizens who were on board the vessel, where 11 of them were tourists, from different countries such as Poland, France, Israel and Belgium.

The Border Police Services, after towing to the port the vessel where the tourists were, have carried out verifications which have shown that the vessel launched by SPK Triport is a vessel for personal use and is not equipped with a Tourist Operator's Certificate Marine.

The boat was blocked and the EL citizen was punished with an administrative fine in the amount of 100,000 ALL, based on Law No. 43/2020 "For maritime tourism operators".

The tourists who are in good health have thanked the Police and Coast Guard services for their help and quick response./ CNA
