The police of Shkodra have arrested Emijan Burda, after it is suspected that he cooperated with 2 other citizens, to traffic about 300 kg of cannabis that were seized at the customs of Montenegro.

It is learned that Burda is known as a friend of Aldo Bares and in 2014 he was arrested in Tirana, after being sentenced in Italy to 21 years in prison for drug trafficking.

After being extradited to Italy, he escaped prison.

But less than a year after being extradited to Italy, Burba managed to get out "washed" with the Italian job, after he was released in January 2015 by the Court of Appeal of Turin.

"Burba is among the organizers of drug trafficking and was under the direction of Alfred Shkurti, known as Aldo Bare, the capo of the gang, also known in criminal circles as "the professor", it was written in the Italian file for the 54-year-old .

So, in February, Burba was seized by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, 2 resort buildings in Delvina, 1 truck and 1 trailer.

In-depth investigations made it possible to identify and arrest a 55-year-old man who allegedly cooperated with 2 other citizens to traffic about 300 kg of cannabis sativa narcotic that was seized at the customs of Montenegro.
As a result of the exchange of information with the Montenegrin Police, on 17.09.2023, 2 citizens (father and son) who were transporting drugs, with a truck loaded with boards and pallets destined for Austria, were arrested.
Following the in-depth investigations, carried out in coordination with the Police of Montenegro and under the direction of the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office, for a case of an attempt to traffic narcotics, the specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the services of the Special Operational Force of the DVP Vlorë, detained the citizen EB, 55 years old, resident in Tirana.
From the investigations so far, it is suspected that the 55-year-old detained by the Police, in Saranda, cooperated with the 2 arrested citizens IO and KO (father and son), during the attempt to traffic about 300 kg of cannabis sativa narcotics that were seized on 17.09.2023, at the customs of Montenegro.
Investigations continue to unravel this criminal activity, as well as to identify and arrest all the citizens implicated in it.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Shkodra General Jurisdiction, for further actions. /CNA
