Xi Jinping meets CEOs of US companies: China's door will always be open

A number of high-profile American business leaders, who are part of the American delegation in Beijing, have held bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping. 

Elon Musk, of Tesla and SpaceX and who briefly headed Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, said in his reaction after the meeting that he wants to achieve many good things in China.

Meanwhile, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the "meetings went great." He added that Trump and Xi have a good relationship and he hoped they would build on that relationship.

When asked how he thought the meeting went, outgoing Apple CEO Tim Cook simply responded with a nod of approval.

Meanwhile, according to foreign media, Xi has stated that China welcomes the US to strengthen cooperation between them.

"China's door will be opened more and more, and China welcomes the US to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with China. I believe that US companies will have even broader prospects in China," Xi said, according to the Xinhua news agency.

Other executives who have arrived in Beijing with Trump include Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, Blackrock CEO Larry Fink, Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, Citi CEO Jane Fraser, Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, among others. /CNA
