More than 80,000 tourists are stranded in the city of Sanya in China, after the authorities took the decision to isolate it due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Chinese authorities have canceled all flights and train travel from Sanya, otherwise known as the "Hawaii of China", after 263 positive cases were confirmed on Saturday.

All travelers must have five negative tests for the coronavirus, carried out in the last seven days, in order to be allowed to leave the city.

China is among the few countries in the world that still implements the "zero cases of COVID" policy.
