The authorities in Kosovo said that the water supply from Lake Ujman in the north of the country, which was temporarily interrupted after the explosion on Friday evening, which Pristina blamed on groups supported by Serbia, is normalizing.
On Sunday, Belgrade again denied any involvement in the attack that damaged the Zubin Potok supply canal about 60 kilometers north of Pristina, which supplies water to several cities and the country's main electricity producer power plants.
On Saturday, the authorities said that they have arrested eight people suspected of involvement in the attack, for which the police suspect that an amount of explosive devices of about 15 to 20 kilograms was used. Prishtina described the attack as a terrorist act, a designation that was also used by the European Union, which called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
On Sunday, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said he rejected Pristina's accusations that Belgrade is behind the attack.
"In addition to having nothing to do with this, we have been so fair and as a serious state, we have not dealt with accusations and we have not said that that attack was ordered directly by (Prime Minister Albin) Kurti", said President Vucic, underlined that Serbia is under a "hybrid" attack, which aims to "slow down" Serbia's European path, since next week the decision to open new chapters in the negotiations for its membership in the European Union is expected.
Friday's attack was widely condemned by Western diplomacy, which offered support to Pristina in dealing with the situation created in its aftermath. The Kosovo Security Council approved additional measures to strengthen security around essential facilities and services.
The attack has only increased the already high tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, despite the efforts of the international community to normalize relations between them./ Voa
