Transition report from EBRD/Sejko: Consequences of crises will last

Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko

The governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, has presented the transition report of the Bank. In a statement to the media, Sejko stated that the economy has been hit several times due to the pandemic or the war in Ukraine.  

As a consequence, these factors have influenced the increase in inflation. Among other things, Sejko says that the consequences of the energy crisis will last.

"This conflict has caused great losses in human life, as well as social and economic ones. We are living in an unusual time and for a part of society this was unimaginable. The blow affected the increase in inflation. The rise in inflation accelerated. The consequences of the energy crisis will last", said Sejko./ CNA.al
