From Vienna, Prime Minister Edi Rama called on investors to buy property in Albania, emphasizing that market prices will continue to increase.
At the "Albania, New Horizons" conference, held in Vienna, he answered a question about the government's role in extending the tourist season beyond 180 days.
Rama stressed that the season has already been extended, but extending it throughout the year remains a challenge. On the other hand, he encouraged investors to buy land and apartments in Albania, warning that prices will increase significantly and may even double after the country's accession to the European Union.
" Hello, we are property investors, such as in hospitality, for tourism, and we started buying properties in Albania a few years ago. You have a season of about 180 days, together with the government we need to create new ideas on what we can do for another 180 days. Because from this season with only 180 days, we are not able to get from the investment what we invest. For example, with different ideas how can we achieve this? My request is that can we do something to extend the season?" , a property investor asked.
" In fact, the season is already getting longer. This year it has been very clear that the numbers have already increased, of course in relative terms compared to last year, but I would say that the question you asked or the challenge is real. We need to do more in this direction. Investors themselves can do more in this area. In particular, investors from Austria, Germany, Spain, or rather I would say countries from northern Europe.
Because you can help us to help the government and local structures themselves so that even retired people can come and spend more time in Albania. I think this will happen. Also because the property sector in Albania is really moving forward and there is room to buy properties at an affordable price.
"What I would say to everyone who has a lot of money, spend it buying properties, apartments in Albania, it will be a really good investment in Albania. Because prices will increase even more when we become an EU member state. Prices almost double. Buy an apartment in Tirana, wait a few years, and sell it for double the price. Come to Albania and buy properties ," declared Prime Minister Edi Rama./ Monitor
