"Uncertainty from developments in the Middle East"/ Governor Sejko meets the new IMF Country Director for Albania

The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, held a meeting in Washington this Thursday with the new Head of the IMF Mission to Albania, Diego Cerdeiro.

As reported in a statement, Sejko presented during the meeting an analysis of the latest economic and financial situation in the country, as well as projections for the future.

"The Albanian economy continues to exhibit stable growth rates, supported by a strong labor market, low inflation, and a healthy financial system. However, uncertainties in the international environment, especially developments in the Middle East, remain factors that require increased attention," Sejko emphasized.

During this meeting, the importance of prudent macroeconomic policies was underlined, to maintain price stability, strengthen financial sustainability and gradually reduce public debt. /CNA
