The head of the Shkodër Municipality, Benet Beci, has informed that several employees of the municipality have been dismissed.

The mayor of Shkodra stated that there were many duplicated positions and specialists who only had their names on the salary slips, but did not offer any services to the residents of Shkodra.

Beci emphasized that it is not possible to continue to pay salaries to people who do not contribute to the development of the municipality.

 "The structure of the municipality, especially in the dependent institutions, had many duplicated positions and specialists who only had their names on the salary slips, but did not offer any services to the residents of Shkodra.

Of course, it is not easy to cut jobs. We are all aware of this. But we cannot continue to pay salaries to people who do not make any contribution to the development of our municipality. The citizens of Shkodra do not have the luxury of paying taxes from their incomes earned through hard work and sacrifices for any redundant employee in the municipality," he writes./ CNA
