The Speaker of Parliament, Niko Peleshi, in a report broadcast on the Opinion show by journalist Blendi Fevziu on the 80th anniversary of Zai Fundo's firing, told the story of his father Aleks Peleshi's acquaintance with Llazar Fundo.

Peleshi emotionally told the story of his father, Aleks Peleshi's activity and the way he had told him about Llazar Fudo.

Niko Peleshi said that his father did not talk about his acquaintance with Llazar Fundo throughout the communist period, as he himself had been helped by American allies to leave Ventotene, trained by Harry Fultz.

Peleshi, recalling memories with his father, recounts that he told him that he had met Zai Fundo in Gjakova and that he had respect for him, adding that Aleks Peleshi was the last known person to have met Zai Fundo.

"The father was arrested in Korça because he was distributing tracts.

He was held prisoner in Albania and then in Ponza. He was arrested in 1943 among the last.

Then Mussolini was arrested and transferred to Ventotene. My father was with Harry Fulz's group of 30-40 Albanians, he was trained by him and led the liberation of Kosovo, where he fought in Albania and Kosovo.

Before returning to Korça from Brindisi, he was sent to Ventotene and fought in Kosovo until 1945.

He met Zai Fundo in Gjakova.

My father knew that Zai Fundo was interned and kept it a secret throughout the years of communism, he told me about it and had respect for Zai Fundo. He may have been the only known Korçar who met him last.

He told them after the '90s where he was shot by the communists.

He did not reveal why he was helped by the Americans to leave Ventotene to join the partisan force trained by Harry Fultz and was afraid of arrest.

After the '90s, he told us about Zai Fundo, but not much.
