The US approves the bill / Artificial Intelligence will not be able to launch
 The US Department of Defense already prohibits AI from autonomously launching nuclear weapons. 

But fears that AI could command a potential nuclear explosion have led state lawmakers to agree that its ban should be enshrined in law.

The bill, called Block Nuclear Launch by Autonomous AI, aims to prevent the use of federal funds to launch nuclear weapons using autonomous weapons systems that lack human control.

The bill also states that no autonomous system without human control will be able to launch a nuclear weapon or select or hit targets.

Any decision to launch a nuclear weapon cannot be made by artificial intelligence.
Although the autonomous use of AI to launch nuclear weapons is already prohibited, the US hopes the new law will lure Russia and China into similar engagements./ Adapted from CNA.al
