Barcelona "shocked", Lewandowski loses to Real and Inter

At one of the most delicate moments of the season, Barcelona are facing a significant absence in their starting lineup. The Catalan club has officially confirmed that main striker Robert Lewandowski has suffered a muscle injury that will keep him out of action for several weeks.

"Medical tests carried out on Sunday have confirmed a muscle injury in Robert Lewandowski's left leg," the club said in a statement, released shortly after the dramatic 4-3 win over Celta Vigo in La Liga. The club added that the player's return will depend on his recovery, without giving a precise timeframe for his return to action.

However, Spanish media reports suggest the Pole's absence will last between two and three weeks, which will rule him out of some crucial games for Barcelona. The 36-year-old striker is likely to miss the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on April 26 and the Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter Milan on April 30. Coach Hansi Flick hopes to have Lewandowski available for the return leg at San Siro on May 6, but everything remains uncertain.
