The international competition for the project of the new Durrës stadium was held today, where the 3 prestigious contemporary architecture studios 51N4E (Belgium), Bjarke Ingels Group, BIG (Denmark) and MVRDV (Netherlands) are competing for the final.

The president of the ALF, Armand Duka, who is also part of the jury that will select the winning project, also participated in this activity. In his welcoming speech, President Duka emphasized that the city of Durrës deserves such an investment, which will have a great impact on the economic and sports life of the city.

According to him, all the investments made in the stadiums are the result of excellent cooperation and the joining of forces between the Albanian Football Federation and the Albanian government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, while expressing his belief that with the new investments Albania will become the country with the most infrastructure best sport in the region.

"As the minister and the Mayor of Durrës said, an agreement was recently signed between the Municipality of Durrës and Manchester City Group, which I want to greet and thank the mayor, as I believe it will serve Durrës football and national football in general, that will raise it to an even higher level.

With these stadiums, we very well complete the sports infrastructure of played football, the conditions for the media and football players, etc., but we need more sports (training) grounds," President Duka said in his speech.

Also, President Duka once again called to support the initiative of the AFL for the construction of new training fields, which will further promote the development of football in the country.
