The derby is bloody, two fans lose their lives

Fights between fans in Latin football are a normal thing, but the latest incident that happened in Colombia was very serious.

The fiery Medellin derby between Independiente Medellin and Atletico Nacional ended with Atletico winning 1-3.

The atmosphere in "Estadio Atanasio Girardot" was extremely fiery, while there was no shortage of clashes between the two ultra fans.

The consequences were tragic. Two people dead and about 20 others injured! One of those who died was Alejandro Gallego, also known as 'Zombie', a 25-year-old member of Los del Sur , the Atl Nacional fan group.

The other victim was Anderson Jaramillo, 34, who belonged to Rexixtencia Norte , the Ind Medellin fan group.

The big clash, where knives and sharp objects were not missing, happened near the Independiente stadium.

The mayor of Medellin, Daniel Quintero, asks for help from the citizens to find the persons responsible for this tragedy.

" We will give 200 million pesos (about 39,000 euros) as a reward to those who help us identify and prosecute those responsible ."
