Even the injury does not stop, Luiza Gega confirms participation in the Athletics World Cup

Despite suffering from an injury to her left thigh for a long time, Luiza Gega has decided to participate in the Athletics World Cup, which is held in Hungary.

The athlete, through a post on social networks, has confirmed her participation and hopes to rank among the top five, to then move on to the finals.

But these two weeks have not been easy physically and psychologically. The cause was a pain that started in the tendon of my left leg after a good speed workout, so I focused all my energies on recovering from the pain by reducing the training load and doing intensive therapy so that I could run in the Championship World Cup taking place in Budapest.

I've been staying in the mountains for months to do just that and especially when training was going really well and everything seemed to be on track.

Anyway my leg is much better, at present I have only a little pain and I am confident that everything will go very well and all the fatigue will be finalised.

I would like to thank the Federation for their willingness, the physiotherapist (Abdelin) and Dr. Alban Merepeza, who has been by my side in every major activity.

My race will be held today and I will race in the 3rd battery at 20:23 when I need to be in the top 5 to make the final.

Anyway, despite everything, I feel lucky and happy for all this long journey over the years and that I still have the opportunity to run with the fastest in the world.

This sport has given me a lot.
