Mourinho negotiates a new contract with Roma

Jose Mourinho is not only ready to stay at Roma, but also to extend his contract until June 2026, according to the latest reports in Italy.

The manager had repeatedly cast doubt on his future, insisting the club needed to give him more resources to work with, despite staying within the parameters of Financial Fair Play.

The situation changed after a meeting with the club's owners, the Friedkin family, but also the fact that Paris Saint-Germain withdrew from talks with the 'Special One', as the Qatari hierarchy did not consider him suitable for the Ligue 1 side.

However, Corriere dello Sport claim that there are now negotiations to not only stay on for the third and final year of his contract, but also to extend it until 2026.

Mourinho won the Conference League in his first season, then reached the Europa League final, losing on penalties to Sevilla.
