"There are many gay footballers", Jankto: I knew that when I was little, now I do what I want

The former player of Udinese in Serie A and who is now active with Sparta Prague, Jakub Jankto last February revealed his sexual orientation by declaring that he was gay. The midfielder recently returned to talk about this topic, stressing that there are many such in the world of football, but they don't make it public out of fear. On the other hand, Jankto reveals that he is already happy and can do whatever he wants since he has nothing to hide.

"I spoke openly and I did it first for myself, but also to help others. I knew my orientation from a young age, but I thought it would be something temporary. I can also say that the football world is homophobic. My declaration of sexual orientation came naturally and was not planned, and I do not regret coming out.

I can finally do what I want and I'm happy about it. Are there other gay footballers? Of course I do, but I can't say names. There are, are and will be in the future, when I spoke openly I received many messages. I don't claim that they will speak openly like me, but maybe I helped them a little and in the future they can express themselves", said Jankto.
