The president of the Football Federation of North Macedonia, Muhamed Sejdini, has suddenly resigned.

He himself confirms this news through a post on social networks, while he also counted some of the successes achieved with North Macedonia during his time at the head of the Federation.

Muhamed Sejdini's full post:

"After 7 extraordinary years filled with historic achievements, I have decided to retire from the position of President of the Macedonian Football Federation. This decision comes as a result of my reflection on an appropriate moment of change, after a period that will remain as the most successful in the history of our football.

Under my leadership, together with you, we have written golden chapters for Macedonian football: the historic qualification for the European Championship EURO 2020, the second ranking in the qualifying group for the World Cup and the unforgettable victory against Italy in Palermo, the successes of the League Nations with the transition to League B and the realization of numerous infrastructural projects in cooperation with UEFA and FIFA.

I leave this position with great pride and thanks to all those who contributed to these achievements: players, coaches, clubs, investors, administration, Executive Committee and every football lover.

I will continue to exercise my role until December 22, when an Extraordinary Assembly will elect my successor.

With full confidence in the future of the Federation and our football, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and cooperation over the years", writes Sejdini.

Currently, the FFM will be led by the vice-president Lazar Rakidjiev, while as learned by the local media, the most serious candidate to replace Sejdin is Masar Omeragic.

It is worth noting that the FFM must appoint the new president before December 27 of this year."/ CNA
