A football player and his girlfriend are arrested for drug smuggling/ More than

Known in the world of Martinican football, Jean-Manuel Nedra, the 29-year-old midfielder who plays for the club L'Aiglon du Lamentin (R1), was arrested with his partner on December 31 at Roissy airport, with more than 100 kg of cocaine hidden in the suitcase. AFP revealed the information on Thursday, after learning it from the prosecutor's office

The two 'travellers' arrived from Fort-de-France. They were checked by customs officials, who found 50.7 kg and 53 kg of cocaine in their luggage, respectively. "Without knowing the extent of his involvement, we have learned that one of our players was arrested in Roissy for drug smuggling," the club said in a short message to the local press.

The couple appeared before an investigating judge in charge of the investigation on Wednesday. The player was placed in custody and his companion was released under judicial supervision. The imprisoned footballer has been a member of the Martinican football team for more than 10 years. He was traveling for personal reasons when he was arrested.
