Negotiations for three chapters close/ Rama in Brussels: Milestone on Albania's journey towards the EU

Today at the European Council, Albania closed negotiations on three chapters for integration into the European Union.

Meanwhile, after the closing of the chapters, the 9th Albania-EU intergovernmental conference has begun.

Prime Minister Edi Rama described the closure of the three chapters as a milestone on Albania's journey towards the EU.

"What happened now marks a milestone in Albania's irreversible journey towards the EU. We have just agreed to close three important negotiating chapters. This is an assessment that Albania is moving forward, reforms are yielding results and that the country is increasingly prepared to take on the responsibilities of membership. Albania is delivering results, the EU is delivering results. Albania is moving forward and the EU is reacting to this. Thank you Tomas, it was a very Irish "super Marta".
