Alba and Eda

Alba and Eda have been in love with each other for 10 years and recently became mothers of two twin girls.

In an interview in "Goca dhe Gra", they told the moment and the steps they followed to bring the children to life. They have done the whole procedure in Albania, while emphasizing that they have faced challenges and discrimination against doctors in private clinics in our country.

"We had 10 years of relationship, 7 years of cohabitation. We have been through everything together. We loved the children from the beginning, but the economic and family conditions were not ripe.

Ishte e thjeshtë për ne të vendosnim kush do ta mbante fëmijë. Kemi dashur të kemi fëmijë të dyja, por për mua nuk është problem. Unë kam probleme fizike, kështu që vendosëm që fëmijët do i mbante Eda. Çdo gjë u bë në Shqipëri. Në një klinikë u diskriminuam, u prezantuam sikur Eda ishte nënë e vetme dhe doktori më pyeti kush je ti, i thash jam shoqja e ngushtë. Tha nuk mund ta bëj sepse nuk ma lejon ligji. Në këtë mënyrë i hap rrugë familjeve LGBT dhe nuk mund ta bëj këtë, më tha doktori.

Te klinika e tretë që kemi shkuar, çdo gjë shkoi mbarë. Ka qenë procedurë in vitro”, shpjegon Alba.

Por, tashmë Alba dhe Eda kanë një beteje ligjore, ligji shqiptar nuk njeh bashkë mëmësinë.

"We are in a legal battle with the civil status, to have the name of co-parenting. A temporary registration of the girls has been made in the nursery, so that we can receive basic services, but their names do not appear in e-Albania. We are in contact with lawyers and notaries", she confesses./ CNA.al
