A 71-year-old American man was arrested after several months of investigations within the police operation coded "Virtual Footprint".

The operation, the result of close cooperation between the Task Force for Joint Investigative Services in the Criminal Police Department and the Unit against Cybercrimes, with the Regional Security Office of the US Embassy in Tirana (RSO/OCIU) and with the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana

The 71-year-old man was arrested for producing and possessing pornographic materials with minors (American citizen, with a criminal record outside Albania).

Several months of investigations carried out as part of the coded police operation "Virtual Footprint" resulted in the identification and arrest of American citizen DL, 71 years old, resident in Tirana.

He is suspected of producing and possessing pornographic material with minors in Albania.

Pursuant to the Prosecutor's order, for the execution of the court's decision, for permission to search, the Criminal Police Department conducted a search in the 71-year-old's apartment, where they found and seized electronic devices and other materials, which served to carry out this criminal activity.
