Starmer calls on Iran to sit down for talks

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the US has taken action to "mitigate" the "serious threat" of Iran's nuclear program.

In a statement he said that Iran cannot be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.

" Iran's nuclear program is a serious threat to international security. Iran can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon and the US has taken action to mitigate this threat ," Starmer said.

The British Prime Minister further called on Iran to sit at the negotiating table and reach a diplomatic solution.

 

" The situation in the Middle East remains volatile and stability in the region is a priority. We call on Iran to return to the negotiating table and reach a diplomatic solution to end this crisis ," the British prime minister said./ CNA
