Albania's ambassador to the UN, Ferit Hoxha, as well as the Russian, Russian Vasily Nebenzya, have had a debate about war criminals, leading to the first clashes of the Albanian presidency of the UN Security Council.

The Russian representative demanded that the so-called war criminals in the former Yugoslavia not be forgotten and pardoned by the justice institutions, mentioning here also the former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.

However, Hoxha responded by reminding the Russian that Haradinaj had been tried twice and in both cases had been acquitted of charges of alleged war crimes.

He did not hide, he did not run away, he resigned from the post of prime minister, and he surrendered to justice himself, faced the facts, won and is now free.
