Police action on traffic in Tirana/ Measures to free up spaces from illegal

The State Police announced today that it has undertaken a series of measures to free up occupied spaces in the capital.

These measures aim to facilitate movement and traffic flow for vehicles and citizens.

According to the Police, the measures will help free up spaces occupied by illegal parking, emergency lanes, and pedestrian crossings.

"In order to increase road safety and facilitate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, the Tirana Road Traffic Services have undertaken a series of measures to free up spaces occupied by illegal parking, which impede the movement and flow of traffic.

As part of these measures, vehicles parked in lanes dedicated to public transport (buses, taxis), in emergency lanes, at pedestrian crossings or in areas where traffic jams are created, are being moved and relocated to the storage point near the Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat.

The Traffic Police appeals to drivers to be careful and park while respecting road signs, to avoid administrative penalties and other legal measures that will be applied to violators.

"We invite citizens to report violations that impede movement and safety, for safer and more orderly roads," the police announced./ CNA
