At the first international summit for Afghan women, Foreign Minister Igli Hasani made a request to internationals.

Hassan urged the international community to extend its support and amplify efforts for Afghan girls and women.

The minister stated that girls and women must be guaranteed that gender equality is not a distant dream, but a tangible reality.

"The Taliban regime is worsening the daily situation in the country. The autonomy and existence of Afghan women and girls in society is at risk. Taliban measures, systematic discrimination based on gender. Girls and women are denied the right to attend secondary and higher education.

Targeting women is not random, they are the most militant part of human society. Afghan women continue to show remarkable resilience and courage. The international community should extend its support and amplify efforts. We must provide them with the resources, expertise and solidarity they need. Let's guarantee that gender equality is not a distant dream, but a tangible reality. Our efforts risk failure if they are not properly addressed," Hasani said.

The summit for Afghan women was held for the first time in Tirana, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs./ CNA
