Mauricio Pochettino is officially the new coach of the United States men's national team.

This news was made public by the US Soccer Federation, while among other things it informs that the 52-year-old has signed a 2-year contract, with the aim of leading this team to the 2026 World Cup, in which the States of The United States is co-hosting with Canada and Mexico.

"Mauricio Pochettino will be the coach of the USA for the next two years, with the aim of leading the team to the 2026 World Cup" - informs the American federation.

Pochettino succeeds Gregg Berhalter, who was fired after the USA's poor showing at this summer's Copa America.

Speaking through social networks after this officialization, Pochettino said that

"The decision to join American football for me is about the journey this team and this country is going through. The energy, passion and hunger to achieve something truly historic here, these are the things that inspired me. The opportunity to lead the USA Men's National Team in front of fans who are as passionate as the players is something I couldn't pass up. I see a group of players full of talent and potential, and together, we will build something special that the whole nation can be proud of," said the Argentine coach.
